Affiliated Community Health Foundation
Our commitment to scholarships in health careers supports medicine in the communities where we live and work. These students are an investment in our future.
ACHF has awarded scholarships to medical students with hometown ties to the service areas of ACMC's clinic sites and also to medical students conducting 9 to 12 months rotations with ACMC.
Founded in 2002, Affiliated Community Health Foundation (ACHF) is a not-for-profit (501)(C3) foundation associated with Affiliated Community Medical Centers. The foundation recognizes the need to encourage medical careers in our communities. Currently there is a shortage in the health care workforce across the nation. The demand for physicians, nurses and other health care professionals will continue to rise as the 78 million baby boomers age and have longer life expectancies. ACHF recognizes the future of health care lies in the hands of well-educated professionals.
ACHF recognizes the importance of educating the health care professionals of tomorrow. With the ongoing shortages in health care personnel, ACHF scholarships offer financial support to students committed to a health care profession. Scholarships are awarded directly to individuals and also through partnerships with Ridgewater College, St. Cloud Technical & Community College and Alexandria Technical College, educational institutions in the Southwest and West Central Minnesota region.
ACHF offers educational scholarships for the following health care professions:
Steve Walters Memorial Scholarship
A $500 scholarship will be awarded annually to a health care career student through Ridgewater College. The recipient of this award will also be recognized on a plaque in the entry of ACMC in Willmar.
